Skoda the Czech brand is flourishing under the ownership and guidance of the VW Group. With new and upcoming models attracting consumer interest, the future looks bright. 2011 has seen strong month on month sales for Skoda, every month has been up on last year so far.

July was no different, new Skoda dealer Hertfordshire reached a sales record with 68,500 vehicles sold, compared to 2010's 58,500. This brings the total for the first seven months of the year to 523,200 units. Globally Skoda has sold 19.7% more vehicles this year compared to the first seven months of last year.

Jurgen Stackmann, Skoda board member for sales and marketing said, "Skoda remains in the fast lane. Regions such as China, India, and even Russia reported significant growth in July. We also continued to record strong sales with our attractive model range in the established markets of Western and Eastern Europe."

In the UK Market Skoda looks to securing its best ever year for sales. In July UK Skoda sales rose to 3,300 units, an increase of 10% year on year. UK sales growth was very encouraging, considering sales in the brand?s home market of the Czech Republic grew by 9.6%.

In the Ukraine car market, sales rose by 54.8%. Slovenia new car sales grew by 9.3%, Poland grew by 3.7%, and Croatia grew by 4.0%. Western Europe territories saw Skoda achieve a 24% sales increase with 27,200 vehicles sold in July 2011 alone.

China, India and Russia have proved to be some of the fastest growing car markets, not just for Skoda but for all manufacturers. In China Skoda delivered 17,800 vehicles, a 15.4% increase. Russia saw its third best monthly result, a 22.7% increase with 6,100 deliveries. India saw a 70.1% increase with 2,300 vehicles sold for the year to date.
