The Mazda6 has been in production since 2002, it was the first model to feature Mazda?s Stylish, Insightful, and Spirited design philosophy. The Mazda6 in Bridgend has been one of the success stories for Mazda of late, over one million models have been sold worldwide. The Mazda6 achieved its 100,000 sold units milestone faster than any other Mazda model.

The second generation Mazda6 is the current model and has been on sale since 2008. It is available as a 4 door saloon, a 5 door hatchback and an estate. The Mazda6 is placed in a very competitive market that includes the Ford Mondeo and the Honda Accord, but in 2010 What Car? voted it the Family Car of the Year.

There are currently six engine options for the Mazda6, 3 petrols and 3 diesels. The Petrol range is made up of the entry level 1.8 litre with 118 bhp, a 2.0 litre with 153 bhp and the range topping 2.5 litre with 168 bhp. The diesel range consists of a 2.2 litre unit with 127, 161 or 177 bhp. The larger diesel engine provides the best compromise between fuel efficiency and power, and would have to be my personal choice.

In June of this year Mazda launched a model of the Mazda6 specifically targeted at the corporate market. The Business Line model is equipped to provide company car drivers with a high specified vehicle at a competitive price.

The Business Line model comes with the 2.2 litre diesel engine and a TomTom satellite navigation unit with Bluetooth connectivity. It comes with other standard features such as Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS).
